Cleversome Ltd released yesterday Notica 1.0, their new visual memory companion for iPhone and iPod touch. Notica is the ultimate way for you to connect the things you see with what you want to remember about them.

Cleversome Ltd is a Tel-Aviv based iOS applications company established by a designer-developer duo in June 2010. Both were employed at a very successful international hi-tech company in Ra’anana, Israel, where they met, until they retired and established Cleversome. Cleversome’s first application is Notica, a visual memory companion, and they plan to release more apps during 2010 and beginning of 2011.

Notica is a productivity app revolving around the concept of adding rich context to visuals, specifically photos and videos taken with the device’s camera.

Elazar Yifrach, Co-Founder and developer at Cleversome, said “In entering the well-saturated market of productivity apps, and specifically note-taking apps, we knew we had to deliver something unique and polished beyond most apps currently available in that category.”

Notica is characterized with a highly meticulous interface, designed by the company’s second founder, Moti Lev, a web and desktop designer for over 8 years converted to iOS designer with the company’s establishment in June 2010. The application’s main elements are cards containing a large space for photos or videos, and an expandable space at the bottom for content like text, location info and date and time. Cards are organized in stack-like groups and a search field allows easy access to cards based on their text and location, automatically broken to keywords, among other features for easy arrangement of cards.

“We certainly had designers at mind when we created Notica, along with other use cases like family or a traveling journal, but we were very happy to hear of other uses people found for this app, for example, a content consulting manager that contacted us with ideas on how he finds Notica useful as a promotional tool,” says Moti.

Elazar concludes “Judging from the very first reviews, we feel that we’ve managed to deliver our approach to iOS apps with our first product release, which is to stick to your main goal of the product, don’t overload with features just to give volume to your app and provide a beautiful and delightful experience to your users. We certainly plan to update Notica with more features, but we like to examine them very carefully before implementing.”
