In the year 1950 Israel was the first country in the Middle-East to acknowledge the People’s Republic of China. Full diplomatic relations between the two states were established in January 1992 and were achieved as a result of a long process that began in the mid 80′ of negotiations and meeting of various officials.
Over a decade of the diplomatic relations between the two states, a tradition of consultations and annual meetings has been established between the two ministries of foreign affairs. Furthermore the two states signed many bilateral agreements and accords on various issures.
