Schneerson.

Throughout the Rebbe Shlita’s nesius, he has shown a special regard and concern for children. The many children’s rallies and Tzivos HaShem activities demonstrate the great affinity the Rebbe shows for children and the major role they play in his outreach efforts.

Not only has the Rebbe inspired many activities involving children, he has also directed many sichos to them. But children have a great thirst to know, and they want to understand not only the talks directed to them in particular, but everything the Rebbe says. After sitting for hours on Shabbos afternoons, participating in the Rebbe’s farbrengens, and afterwards, the children would ask their parents: “Please tell me what the Rebbe said.” - for more download apps

Jewish Cal is the most comprehensive Jewish and Hebrew calendar ever produced. Here are just some of the features included:

Holidays & events
Events: See Jewish & Israeli events and holidays in a Secular (Gregorian), Jewish or Hebrew calendar view. Includes the Sefiras Ha’omer count.

You can even add your own events such as a Yahrzeit, birthday or anniversary, all with detailed customization options.

Siddur, minyan finder & compass
A built in siddur helps you daven/pray anytime, anywhere. Auto-Scroll technology makes use of the iPhone’s accelerometer to browse through a prayer without having to lose concentration.

Jewish Cal keep things clean and simple by displaying only the appropriate prayers at the requested time of day (based the Halachic times, or Zmanim). For example, in the nighttime hours only Ma’ariv and Bedtime Shema are promoted.

There is also an integrated Minyan Finder with the most complete minyan database available, powered by our friends at GoDaven.com

Note: Currently Siddur texts are only available for Nusach Ashkenaz. English translations are also very limited at this time. We will be adding more siddur content and will be updated upon application launch.

Daily learning
Just like with other parts of the app, Jewish Cal simplifies Torah content also, by only displaying the relevant Jewish study material for the specific day requested.

All Talmud, Mishna and Torah/Chumash content include a comprehensive English translation.

Calendar sync
Jewish Cal syncs to Google Calendar and therefore to Outlook or iCal. All you need is a Google account to stay in sync.

Weather & forecasts
Get the weather and the week’s forecast in your local area. Choose your location by GPS or enter any worldwide city manually from the Settings page.

“Publisher’s Foreword
These days are remembered and kept throughout every generation.
(Esther 9:28)

By remembering the events of the past we keep them alive every year. Jewish holidays do not just commemorate historical events; they also have spiritual meanings and messages for all times.

The Lubavitcher Rebbe has been interpreting and articulating those messages for over forty years. The essays in this volume are adaptations of some of the talks of the Rebbe delivered on festivals, Chassidic holidays, fast days and other Jewish days of note.

The essays presented here represent only a fraction of the Rebbe’s thoughts on these topics. From the immense wealth of material available we have chosen one essay for each holiday as a representative sample of the Rebbe’s works.

The essays are arranged in the order of the Jewish calendar beginning from Rosh HaShanah. They include essays on all the Biblical festivals, the Rabbinic festivals, the fast days, special Shabbosim, other days of note such as 15th of Av, the themes of some of the months, and Chassidic festivals. The Chassidic festivals associated particularly with the Rebbe, such as 11th Nissan, have not been included as they would require a separate volume to do justice to such a subject.

The Rebbe’s talks were delivered in Yiddish. These essays, which are both translations and adaptations, of necessity depart from the Rebbe’s literal words. As such, all responsibility for their accuracy is the translator’s.

Yosef Loebenstein adapted and translated the texts from their Yiddish originals. Yosef Yitzchok Turner was responsible for the elegant layout and typography. Rabbi Yonah Avtzon encouraged and supervised the project from inception to conclusion.

May we very soon merit to hear again the Rebbe’s talks in the future Redemption.”

Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch and iPad.

Astronomically and Agriculturally Corrected Biblical Hebrew Calendar is designed to help those who seek to more fully understand the Hebrew Scriptures.

We are living in the Creator’s universe. The world in which we live is synchronized to His calendar and His time clock. Whether we recognize it or not makes no difference. The Almighty does not spin the world around what we do or do not understand.

The Creator’s reckoning of time is clearly detailed in the first scroll of the Hebrew Scriptures. Yet, the western Gentile Christian world has forsaken God’s calendar. Instead, it has adopted a pagan reckoning of time in which every day of the week and month of the year is named after a pagan god or fallen angel. Days, weeks, months, and years all begin at completely fictitious points in time. Those raised within the western paradigm have no idea what time it is. It is as if the hands have been broken from the face of the clock.

The Creator set the sun, moon, planets, and stars in their courses as an elaborate time-keeping device that has not varied since creation. By it we understand His appointed times and seasons, which enables us to live in harmony with Him and His creation.
